Submissions

Bateman Books publishes a select range of high-quality books, specialising in New Zealand illustrated non-fiction. We are open to receiving submissions from all genres with the exception of poetry.

Please email Jemma Moreira: jemmam@bateman.co.nz under the subject heading ‘Submission’ with the following information:

• Synopsis of the book
• Its intended market
• Some background information about yourself and your writing experience
• One or two sample chapters.

If you are submitting a children’s picture book, please include some art samples by yourself or your co-author or, alternatively, please provide suggestions of potential illustrators or illustrative styles.

All manuscripts will be considered by the in-house publishing team and you should be contacted within ten to twelve weeks of submission. Please be patient with us because we receive a high volume of manuscripts, and these take time to review.
