Description

Disappointed Monsters is an A to Z of life’s most disappointing and disheartening moments, manifested in the sort of monsters more commonly found inhabiting a graphic novel. Each letter introduces a daily setback, experienced by a crestfallen creature from the imagination of author and illustrator Eli Bowes. The book ranges from Alarm (a disappointed monster who wakes at 6.15 a.m. on a Saturday, having neglected to switch off his workday alarm) to Zip (a disappointed monster whose expensive hoodie has suffered a fastening malfunction) via an array of fantastically illustrated creatures sinking into everyday ennui due to flat-pack furniture, a bad first date, a hair-matted plughole or an empty toilet roll. Combining a witty, world-weary text with gloriously graphic illustrations, this is the perfect gift book for the disappointed monsters in your life. AUTHOR: Eli Bowes is a London-based illustrator and animator. Day to day, he works for the events industry designing and creating everything from bespoke toilet signage to 50-foot-high projections that illuminate iconic Moscow landmarks as part of international festivals – but mostly just toilet signage. He studied Illustration at Brighton University of the Arts, loves cheese, jellyfish and live music, and has been failing to learn French for about 10 years. SELLING POINTS: . A witty look at the gripes of modern life . Quirky, graphic-novel style illustration . A fun gift book for the grump in your life! Full colour throughout with illustrations
