Author Bio

Dutch-born Marsel van Oosten is the only photographer in the world to have won the so-called Grand Slam of nature photography: "Wildlife Photographer of the Year", "International Nature Photographer of the Year" and "Travel Photographer of the Year". His images can be seen in numerous galleries and museums and are used in advertising and design worldwide. He is also a regular contributor to National Geographic. Marsel van Oosten currently lives in Knysna, South Africa, with producer and videographer Daniella Sibbing. Together they specialize in nature photography tours around the world. Marsel van Oosten has chosen to donate a portion of the proceeds from this book to the Canopy Project. This will be used to plant trees all over the world. The immense deforestation and disappearance of entire ecosystems is the main cause of the annual extinction of numerous species. The more nature there is, the greater the chance that animals can survive and even thrive again.
