Description

A follow-up to 100 Designs for a Modern World (Rizzoli, 2016), this is one of the most comprehensive books on the subject of industrial design since Kathryn Heisinger’s classic Landmarks of 20th Century Design (Abbeville, 1993). Destined to become a new classic in the design genre, Industrial Design in the Modern Age features approximately 250 objects, many never before seen, from the George R. Kravis Collection, and includes images specially commissioned for this book alongside essays by curators and experts in the field. This will appeal to fans of design history, and of the iconic styles and great designers of the 20th century, from art deco, mid-century modern, and high-tech, to Gropius, Eames, Saarinen, Starck, Newson, and Ive.
