Ockhams 2023 Longlist Breaks All Records!

Today’s longlist announcement is the largest and widest ranging in the recent history of the awards, with a record number of 44 poetry, prose, general and illustrated non-fiction titles. This is an increase on the usual 40.

Two of our books have made the Longlist this year!

Kāwai: For Such a Time as This by Monty Soutar has been longlisted for the Jann Medlicott Acorn Prize for Fiction.

Kai by Christall Lowe has been longlisted for the Booksellers Aotearoa New Zealand Award for Illustrated Non-Fiction.

We couldn’t be prouder of both Monty and Christall as well as all the other incredible longlistees!
